Symbol Overview

Purpose

Use Symbol Overview at shift start and throughout the shift to scan quote condition by product and Maker pool. It brings stopped or unusual rows forward so the Dealer can decide what to verify next.

Beginner CORE View

For Level 1, read these eight visible fields from left to right in this exact order:

Review cue
  1. Symbol: the product represented by the row.
  2. Maker pool: the pricing pool represented by that row. Preserve it with the product when recording evidence.
  3. Bid: the currently displayed bid price.
  4. Spread: the visible distance between Bid and Ask. Review it in the current market context.
  5. Ask: the currently displayed ask price.
  6. Updated: whether the row is still receiving recent quote updates.
  7. LPs: whether expected liquidity providers are present and continuing to contribute. An unexpected LP-count drop is a review signal, not a conclusion.
  8. M_micro: a visible review cue used to prioritise attention. It is not a conclusion about a quote incident.

What Normal Looks Like

Quotes continue updating, Bid remains below Ask, Updated remains fresh, Spread is reasonable for current market conditions, and LP count has not dropped unexpectedly.

What Needs Review

Review a stopped or stale row, an isolated abrupt movement, persistent spread widening, crossed prices, an unexpected LP-count drop, or several related products changing together. Do not classify a wider spread as mispricing without evidence.

Shift Action

  1. Save the Symbol, Maker pool and timestamps.
  2. Compare the same period in Connection Status and one independent price reference.
  3. If a client or order is involved, compare Client Stream and the relevant Decision Stream records.
  4. Escalate stopped client-facing prices, sustained deterioration, multi-symbol impact, affected orders, or evidence that cannot be reconciled.

Key Reminder

M_micro changes colour while Updated remains fresh and LPs remain present. Review priority has increased, but this alone does not prove a quote incident.
